Anger surrounding the current U.S. president, his hacker in chief and the numerous illegal activities taking place within our established government agencies is growing and is getting loud. Citizens are standing up to shout as the fight has finally begun.
Significant anger towards Elon Musk
After tens of thousands of letters and phone calls from constituents were received by lawmakers about the shocking trail of disrespect shown by the president and his dictatorial commands, many of these elected officials have come out to say the activities against the marginalized, the threats to federal workers, the dismantling of critical infrastructure and the intrusions into our most secure systems by a band of government approved hackers is not acceptable.
These officials need to hold press conferences in the halls of Congress and in front of government buildings they have been blocked from entering, and they need to do this every day, but most people don’t watch PBS and not everyone knows the full extent of what is going on. The larger message is going to come from the street because this is where voters who might not be as informed as those who are tuned in might come across a demonstration or even a news article detailing the reasons behind such gatherings. This message from the streets started last week.
The 50501 nationwide protests
50 protests, 50 states, one day was a grassroots event that saw folks show out throughout the country at their respective state capitals. I covered the event from Carson City, Nevada. It had been a rainy week, but there was a break in the weather, and it was a bright sunny 50-degree day.

The Resistance movement
Build the Resistance is the grassroots organization behind the 50501 protests. There are more demonstrations to come, and activists will learn about future events during a zoom call February 19. I will keep you posted as I plan to be on the call.
The newest message from Anonymous
A highly skilled group of hackers, Anonymous is known for their protest, resistance, and online activism. YouTube content creator Kyle Kulinski found a video message from Anonymous, basically saying that the organization plans on exploiting the gaps left by the band of hackers messing with our government systems and stealing private data. The message says people need to rise before precedents form.
