Mio versus Bai: When you are forced to conserve.

Filtered water is okay, but at dinner I like to drink something with a little flavor. Soda is cheap, but it is not good for you at all. I found a bottled drink several years ago called Bai. It is non carbonated flavored water and sadly it is expensive.

One 18-ounce bottle of Bai costs an average of $1.80 a bottle. They run about $2 for a single bottle in a grocery store. That is not cheap, even while not in conservation mode. When I was able to purchase Bai on a regular basis, I almost never drank soda. All that changed last year.

Sunken budget

I was not able to purchase Bai as often as I would have liked, and I started drinking more soda. Not good. In fact, it shows on my blood work when I drink dark soda on a regular basis. Dark soda is brutal on the kidneys, so I decided to look for flavoring to make my own water treat. I found Mio.

One bottle of Mio is less than $3 and it creates 192 ounces of flavored water. Compare that to one 18-ounce bottle of Bai for about $2. Big difference in price.

The bottle of Mio says all you need is one squeeze per 8-ounce glass of water. My first glass was quite sweet, so I suppose I had too much squeeze. I will experiment since the squeeze is not measured.

Bai is a popular drink, but perhaps making your own flavored water is worth a try. There are many flavors and you can get them at Amazon.
