As I sit here battling a head cold, I am thinking about this country where I was born.
I was born and raised here in the United States of America. My dad, who I have referenced numerous times on this blog, had a saying he used often: Love your country; just don’t trust your government.
Can you blame him?
You can’t even question him for making this statement. Just from the time I have been alive, our government dragged our young men into a Vietnam war that ended in nothing but tragedy for the United States. Our esteemed FBI created mass murder in Waco, Texas, killing men, women and children. After 9-11, instead of securing this country, our idiotic leaders invaded Afghanistan and after 20 years we dumped the women and children back into the hands of the brutal Taliban. After Afghanistan, we dragged more of our young men into Desert Storm to attack Iraq, only to get ISIS out of it.
And now
We have a 34-count convicted felon as president, who thinks he can run roughshod over the laws of this nations and anyone he doesn’t like. He does not care about anyone but himself and unfortunately enough people believed all his campaign bullshit and enough people sat home and now we are stuck with this maniac for the next four years.

The blame game
Yeah, this is a favorite practice of our felon president. He is now blaming Ukraine for being invaded by Russia. He banned the Associated Press from the White House and Air Force One because the AP is not calling the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Hey, blockhead, it takes more than your signature to change the name of an international body of water. Just because you say a thing doesn’t make it a thing.
And I would like to know about all the fake promises, another favorite practice of our felon president, of lower food, gas and housing costs on day one. Who the hell believed this bullshit? Inflation, food, gas and housing prices instead are up. Nothing has gone down, except for the morale of many people. And with thousands upon thousands of federal employees losing their jobs, without even proper review I might add, things are going to get even worse.
This country where I was born
So, in my initial angst of having to deal with this moron for the next four years, for the first time ever I wanted to escape. After 10 years of listening to this blowhard every day of my life, I’d had enough. I thought about getting dual Italian citizenship. I could qualify. It would not be an easy task, but it could be done.

That said, a fascist is running that country too. She is jailing people who make fun of her looks, and so why would I want to go live there, with less freedom and down the road from Vladimir Putin. No thank you. I decided that I was going to stay here and fight for this country where I was born.
You gotta fight
Folks, we must stay strong emotionally. This is still the United States of America, even if we have a 34-count convicted felon as president. Let the moron start burning as many bridges as possible, which he will as this is the only thing he does well, because our main goal (speaking for those who crave a peaceful and pleasant living environment) is to get back control of the house of representatives at the 2026 midterms. This is the stop gap we need to prevent further insanity.
